Day Trip to Versailles

I was so excited to go to Versailles because I'm fascinated by the story of Marie Antoinette. Also, the Sofia Coppola movie is probably number one on my list of beautiful movies because really, everything from the costumes to the food to the decor in that movie was just gorgeous. Versailles really was great, it was truly beautiful and everything was perfectly coiffed.

The Hall of Mirrors was incredible.

The gardens were gigantic!

I think the mantra back then was "Go big or go home".

The City of Blinding Lights Part Five

The gardens were definitely one of my highlights, they were all so beautifully kept, like the Tuileries here. The Luxembourg Gardens were gorgeous too.
Now, the Yves Saint Laurent Retrospective at the Petit Palais was indescribably good. It had pieces from his days at Dior to his final collection. Every single piece was gorgeous with great information to go along with it and I absolutely loved the clips there were of him just sketching! I bought bookmarks to frame from it and this fantastic YSL colouring book which is totally unlike anything I've ever seen.

Petit Palais Gardens? Also just breathtaking.

Gorgeous sky our last night, perfect end to an unforgettable trip.

The City of Blinding Lights Part Four

I loved the courtyard at the Louvre, the Pyramids and fountains make it the perfect place to just sit and watch the world go by.

The City of Blinding Lights Part Three

The Eiffel Tower was absolutely breathtaking, especially at night. We went up to the second platform and I was absolutely terrified because it was so high!
Wearing Joe shirt, Banana Republic skirt and necklace and Pierre Hardy for Gap platforms

The walk to the Eiffel Tower was fantastic, we walked through a park and over the Seine to reach it. Great place to peoplewatch

City of Blinding Lights Part Two

Right near our hotel was an antique shop that had a HUGE stuffed polar bear in the window, you really don't believe how big they are until you see one.
Laduree macaroons, quite possibly the most incredible thing you will ever eat. The pistachio ones were my favourites!

Wings of Victory at the Louvre--so beautiful

The City of Blinding Lights Part One..

This week I got back from an 8 day trip to Paris! It was absolutely incredible and seems like a perfect city. Great food, great architecture, great people and of course, amazing fashion.

They had a large set up of mannequins beside the Chanel shop on Avenue Montaigne, almost like they were about to do a photo shoot.
Wearing a Zara dress, Australian bangle and Banana Republic cuff and purse
So many motorcycles and motorscooters!
Incredibly beautiful architecture!!
More to come!

Fall 2010 Couture Collections

The Haute Couture collections are something I always look forward to. These collections didn't disappoint, especially my favourite, Dior. The eyecatching colours at Dior were absolutely beautiful and the super fun hair just topped it off for me. At Valentino, the colours were also gorgeous but on a totally different note. They were so subdued and romantic, which I love in dresses. At Chanel, the beauty was in the details. Whether it was the beading or subtle quilted designs, each piece was incredibly intricate in its own way. Here are some of my favourite looks...

Prom at the Pavillion

On Monday I got to help out at my school's Prom with other student council members. I originally bought this dress years ago for a wedding and since then I've worn it to this event and also for Halloween as Holly Golightly. Just goes to show how versatile it is.

Wearing an H&M dress and necklace and Nine West shoes

Everyone looked fabulous!
