Welcome to the Sixties

The sixties have long been my favourite fashion era, so I'm extremely excited about all of the 60s inspired clothing from designers like Prada. I've started shopping for fall and have spotted some 60s-esque finds for the frugal fashionista at Zara, including a fantastic graphic black and white minidress. Here's some 60s inspiration for the beauty junkie in all of us, because let's be honest, eyeliner epitomizes mod style.

Under the Bridge

I feel like this dress goes perfectly with this landscape. Each part of the dress is so different with its colours and prints, but it all comes together in a beautiful, harmonious way. This is how some street art can evolve. Everyone adds something new and different but when seen as a whole, it all meshes together as one. This is under a subway bridge and I am still fascinated by the graffiti. Thanks to Uncle Mike for taking such beautiful pictures!

Blue Bow, Pink Lipstick and a Topknot

The above title is essentially my Prom look. The navy blue chiffon dress blew in the wind beautifully and the bow was a twist on a classic. I loved that it wasn't over the top and added to the movement of the dress. As for the hair and makeup, I didn't want to take away from the dress, so my hair was a simple topknot that didn't interfere with the ensemble. I also did a bright pink lip that went beautifully with the navy of the dress.

Floral Frenzy

This is another one of the fabulous dresses I got at Target!! The colour combination in the flowers is simply gorgeous--pink and orange has been my favourite colour combo since I was 4... The shape of the dress is also very Mad Men. It just swings when you walk as illustrated below. Besides, who can resist a floral frenzy when the sun comes out?

Pretty in Pink

I am a Target fiend. Their designer collaborations are always fantastic and I'm always anxious to see who they will partner with next. Obviously when a plethora of dresses from past partners were released, I had a list ready. This dress is from the Luella collection for Target and I'm in love with it! There's a crinoline underneath the skirt which makes it extra flouncy and makes me extra happy. I got two other dresses there as well so stay tuned for those!

Spring Has Sprung!

Well spring has ALMOST sprung... In between the downpours and bitter wind, the sun tries to emerge from the overcast and some days are *GASP* warm! On one of those rare days, I decided to spring myself in a crisp white blazer. I find that white blazers in a lightweight fabric are perfect for spring and summer days where you want a bit of polish without bringing out the wool. This season, I'd also like to try a hot pink blazer to add punch to a basic white t-shirt and printed shorts.Wearing a Zara blazer, JCrew blouse, Gap jeans and Urban Outfitters sunglasses

New Pierre Hardys!

The shoes that Pierre Hardy designs for Gap are my weakness. As the weather inches into spring territory, I inch into my Pierre Hardy for Gap platforms. Therefore it's easy to imagine my excitement of the new heels that Hardy has designed for spring/summer 2011. I feel like these nude heels are modern day kitschy 1950s wedding shoes. They have a dainty bow and pointed toe, but they have a modern chunky heel. The nude colour is also gorgeous, which raises the question... When can a try them on?
