Welcome to the Sixties

The sixties have long been my favourite fashion era, so I'm extremely excited about all of the 60s inspired clothing from designers like Prada. I've started shopping for fall and have spotted some 60s-esque finds for the frugal fashionista at Zara, including a fantastic graphic black and white minidress. Here's some 60s inspiration for the beauty junkie in all of us, because let's be honest, eyeliner epitomizes mod style.

Under the Bridge

I feel like this dress goes perfectly with this landscape. Each part of the dress is so different with its colours and prints, but it all comes together in a beautiful, harmonious way. This is how some street art can evolve. Everyone adds something new and different but when seen as a whole, it all meshes together as one. This is under a subway bridge and I am still fascinated by the graffiti. Thanks to Uncle Mike for taking such beautiful pictures!

Shameless Idealists

I'm going to put fashion and style aside for a moment to talk about a cause very close to my heart: Free the Children. On October 1st, I went to a taping of a show called Shameless Idealists. It is a seven part series in which co-founder of Free the Children, Craig Kielburger, interviews people he calls "Shameless Idealists". K'Naan, lead singer of Hedley Jacob Hoggard, former British First Lady Cherie Blair and Betty Williams were interviewed and in a word, it was incredible. All of the interviewees were so inspiring and gave spectacular views on how to change the world for the better. I'm sure that everyone in the audience walked away feeling even more determined to make a difference.
I had the chance to meet Marc Kielburger which I was very excited about!
Shameless Idealists premieres October 11th on CTV.

Learning Curve

To me, museums and style go hand in hand. So many designers draw inspiration from items on display in museums to turn into successful collections. But it's not only fashion affected. Architecture, interior design and many other fields rely on nature and history featured in museums to create their own masterpieces, which is why I love checking them out myself.
